Artisan Cafe
Narture Artisan Cafe, based at 22 Sandgate (The historic Lady Cathcart House) was previously used as an art space over the last two years during the Covid-19 pandemic. We commissioned a number of artist's to highlight the historical importance of Lady Cathcart House to Ayr town centre, through window exhibitions and performances.
Everything we do is made in house, using locally sourced ingredients. All of our bakery produce uses coconut sugar which is a far healthier alternative. We specialise in sourdough produce baked daily, to earn the dough to fund arts projects.
Our speciality sourdough produce is sold from Narture Artisan Cafe, across from our bakery at 22 Sandgate, Ayr, along with coffee, tea etc and sit in and takeaway lunches.
Our Approach to Sustainability
Zero Waste
We are committed to reducing waste and minimising our environmental impact. All of our packaging is compostable or recyclable, and we prioritise using locally sourced and organic ingredients.
Sustainability
We focus on fermented, handmade food from scratch. From sourdough bread and pastries, churning Mossgiel cream to make our own butter, which is then used for our brioche rolls, to pickling and preserving; kimchi and kombucha.
Reusability
We encourage our customers to bring their own reusable cups and bags to reduce waste. We make KVASS- a fermented drink made from end of day bread, we also donate our bakery produce to local food banks.
