FreshAyr was set up in October 2016 to address the lack of arts opportunities in Ayr. A number of pop-up events were held to measure the interest in arts locally and promote the benefits of creativity and critical thinking.

 

The motivation was to generate creative opportunities and improve quality of life for all members of society through the benefits of engagement in cultural activities.

The first ever project started with nothing. Artists were asked to get involved online, making artwork labels for tin cans with nothing in them but ‘fresh air’
